How do I book an appointment?
You can book online any time, call or text us at 604-375-9904, or reach out through Instagram @hairapyhairsalon or by email at thehairapyhairsalon@gmail.com — especially for color work or anything corrective, where it helps to talk it through first.
What's your cancellation & rescheduling policy?
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel — you'll get a courtesy reminder 72 hours ahead of your visit. Cancellations, no-shows, or changes made with less than 48 hours' notice are charged 50% of the scheduled service price.
Do you do haircuts for kids?
Yes — our Mini Hairapy services are sized for younger guests. As with our Dry Cut, hair texture matters: finer, straighter hair tends to do well with a quick dry trim, while thicker, wavier, or curlier hair usually gets a better result with the full wash-and-style experience, since your stylist needs to see how it falls once it's clean. We're always happy to talk through what's best for your little one when you book.
How is extension pricing figured out?
Extensions are billed hourly based on your stylist's experience level, ranging from $50–$75/hr. We'll give you a time estimate up front so there are no surprises.

Do you sell hair products?
Yes — we carry professional haircare, including Matrix, and our shelves also feature product lines from independent artists working within our space. Ask your stylist what they'd recommend for your hair.

Where can I park?
We have a few dedicated spots that we share with our neighbouring businesses, and there's also street parking nearby if those are full.
Private & Inclusive Appointments
Do you offer female-only or hijab-friendly appointments?
Yes. We're a unisex salon, but we're glad to arrange a female-only appointment with advance request — we'll find a time that works. During that appointment, the door is locked, blinds are closed, and no male clients or staff are present, so you can get your full service (wash, cut, and style) comfortably and privately.
What other services do you offer?
Color and balayage, blonding, color correction, extensions, perms, smoothing treatments, blowouts, braids, and scalp facials — for women, men, and kids. Complex color work always starts with a consultation.

Services & Pricing
What's the difference between the Signature Cut and the Dry Cut?
The Signature Cut (from $65, 1 hr) is our full experience: a custom precision cut, a wash with a 2-minute scalp massage on our massage chairs, and a blowout. $65 is our starting price with a Level 1 stylist — pricing increases with stylist level. The Dry Cut (from $45, 30 min) is a quicker scissor cut with no wash or blow-dry, best suited to fine-to-medium, straight-to-wavy hair without heavy layering — it's not recommended for thick, medium-density hair. If your texture doesn't allow for it within the time booked, your stylist may need to rebook you for a Signature Cut instead.
What happens if I'm running late?
We'll always do our best to fit you in, but arriving more than 10 minutes late may be treated as a cancellation at your stylist's discretion, since it can affect guests booked after you.
